Nani and Wayne Rooney, U guys just stole the show...Pure Unadulterated Brilliance

The much awaited game between Manchester United and Manchester City at the Theatre of Dreams ulitmately lived up to it's expectations(United showing City the door) when Nani gave the hosts the lead when he slotted past Joe Hart after showing excellent composure when being put through on goal, only for David Silva to unwittingly equalise when Edin Dzeko’s shot went in off the Spaniard.Wayne Rooney's goal demonstrated pure brilliance when he did an acrobatic bi - cycle kick and nailed the match winner, this was no ordinary goal, it will be remembered for decades to come and will be much spoken off in United's Folklore.

Nani definetly was the most animated player on the pitch when he picked the ball up in his own half after Rooney was clattered, waltzed past three City defenders with some smart step-overs and fizzed a left footed shot just wide of the uprightCity searched in vain for another equaliser but it proved not to be their day as United held out to seal a famous and title-defining victory.

Ryan Giggs, had his moments, after displaying some delightful moves, there were times when the ball just never found it's target.Giggs and Scholes were very instrumental throughtout the match, these two legends have redefined the Age vs. Performance paradigm.Paul Scholes contribution in the beginning of the season when United were still finding their way cannot be taken lighlty.Carlos Tevez said he didnt care of the response he would recieve at Old Trafford and he tried to be the man , but Captain vs Captain was a little too much for him.Nemanja Vidic put in another brilliant performance at the heart of United's defence. When i see him on the pitch , i can breathe a sigh of peace.WE DEFINETLY MISSED RIO FERDINAND who is being rested after picking up a calf injury as United have some really BIG GAMES coming their way.United starlet Chris Smalling did just justice by taking his place, tough he lacked experience he didnt show fear , he was right there in the middle of the action and defended against the likes of Yaya Toure , Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko.
You see, that's the thing about being a United fan, it brings out the roaring lion inside u and it renders u fearless.

Yesterday's match was definetly not worth missing at any cost, with City out of the way and a Double against Chelsea on the way, United cannot afford to lose any of the big ones as Arsenal have finally been able to keep up with pressure after god knows how many years.Bring it on People, the heart of OLD TRAFFORD does not fear anyone

Manchester United Takeover By Qatar Royal Family Nearing Completion

The prospective takeover of Manchester United by Qatar holdings, the investment arm of the Qatar royal family, is set to be completed in the coming weeks, according to the Daily Express.Reports suggest that a £1.6 billion deal is in place, with only the finer details to be negotiated, meaning the Glazer family, United’s current owners, will have doubled the £790m they bought the club for in 2005.

If the takeover deal does go through, it could mean Saturday’s Manchester derby is the last under American ownership for the Red Devils, with rivals Manchester City already reaping the benefits of wealthy foreign owners.Indeed a deal does appear viable, with the Qatar royal family showing increasing intent in recent weeks to invest in football with their purchase of Barcelona’s shirt sponsorship rights.A move would likely be welcomed by the United supporters, many of whom participated in a 'green and gold' campaign against the Glazer ownership which has placed the club in heavy debt.

Having the Qatar Royals as owners could be a solution to all of United's troubles.Last Summer United missed out on some key signings due to lack of funds, add to which was the recent Wayne Rooney fiasco which saw him highlight the team's incapability of buying new players.Raising the pay scale of the players would not only boost their spirits but also erase any threats of bids for United players from other clubs such as Real Madrid. This summer United shall be one of the top clubs to spend in the transfer window following many retirements and the ambition to build a lethal strike force which can defeat the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City.Unlike other clubs , Manchester United will succeed not because of rich owners but because they have the josh which fuels them to fight until the last second of that whistle blows.Manchester United are a royality and to be a part of that club is an honour!!!

Patrick Vieira believes there's No Point In Trying To Defend Against Manchester United

"They will score and there's nothing you can do to stop them" Patrick Vieira insists his side must attack Manchester United in the derby this Saturday if they want to have a chance at closing the gap at the top of the table. The midfielder is an old adversary of United in his days as an Arsenal player, taking part in some fearsome battles over the years against Roy Keane.Vieira believes his side must go on the offensive in order to secure three points and attain a foothold in the title race.

Vieira told The National: "When you look at the players we have, we have to go to United and try to win the game.
But to have a chance to beat United, you have to play your own game against them. You have to score. There is no point going to Old Trafford and saying, 'OK, we are going to defend for 90 minutes, because it won't happen; they will score against you."United go into the game on the back of a disappointing loss to relegation-threatened Wolverhampton Wanderers - their first in 29 league matches.

Vieira also states that United would be looking for payback and would want to avoid a second defeat in a row."Big clubs like United, they always talk about the importance of never losing two times in a row, so they will want to bounce back to winning ways immediately."United have had a good week of rest with key players like Rio Ferdinand,Patrice Evra opting to drop out of the International fixtures which were held 2 days ago.Wayne Rooney was also substituted at Half - time.Manchester City have some top class players filling up their first team spots.Former United hitman Carlos Tevez would be looking to score against his former team and is already in red hot form , having scored a hat-trick against West Brom Albion last week.United also have tremondous firepower in them and can silence any team, all they need is to believe in themselves and let the support at Old Trafford boost them into proving how brilliant they are at Old Trafford.

Darren Fletcher says United are ready to go Hell for Leather against Manchester City

Inspite of losing their 29-match unbeaten record at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, United are still in the pole position.Four points clear of second-placed Arsenal and five in front of Saturday's derby-day opponents Manchester City, as Blues assistant manager Brian Kidd recently stated, the championship is the Red Devils to lose.

With Manchester United losing their first game of the season away to Wolves last week, Darren Fletcher insists the Premier League is still a long way away from being decided."You have got to earn the title," he told reporters. "Nobody gives you the trophy"

The ever improving Darren Fletcher is hoping that United beat City at Old Trafford and boost their title chase."The eam that wins the league will be the team that deserved it and showed the best form throughout the season."And as if the Manchester derby was not of paramount importance before, this meeting goes even further than that with both teams battling it out at the top league.

The Red Devils are hoping that a win against Manchester City ,which by all means has an abundance of firepower , would give them the necessary confidence to do well in the Champions League, which starts on February 15th."This is when the big games come that can ultimately win you trophies," said Fletcher.United have to play at Arsenal and Liverpool as well as play Chelses twice. The title race has got crazier than ever this season.United have played exceptionally well in the big games this season. The spirit and energy shown by them is truly inspiring.

During their previous encounter , United and City played a goalless draw at the Eastlands. Both the teams focussed on defending and niether were willing to attack. This saturday the game kicks of at 12:45 p.m at Old Trafford and knowing the support the team receives from the fans will sperhead the attack.Wayne Rooney's return to form and Nemanja Vidic's rock solid defending should make the difference in the upcoming Manchester Derby. The mercurial Nani must also play his part and become every defenders nightmare. Many peolpe predict another draw in this match but United are well aware of the consequences and would definetly give out their best.Best of luck Reds!!!

The Unbeaten streak comes to an end

Manchester United sadly lost their unbeaten record in the league as they lost 2-1 to Wolves. Goals from George Elokobi and Kevin Doyle were enough to cancel out Nani’s early opener, United put on a poor performance to match the pitch they were playing on.It took less than three minutes for United to take the lead, as Nani cut into the area from the right wing, only to be held up by the Wolves defence. But, as the electric winger has done so often this season, he shifted the ball onto his (surprisingly strong) left-foot and slammed an unstoppable shot past Wayne Hennessey at his near post.

The response Wolves were looking for came less than 10 minutes later.United fell asleep from a quickly-taken corner and perhaps as a result of a makeshift defence following Rio Ferdinand’s late withdrawal, George Elokobi was left unmarked eight yards out to loop his header into the corner past the despairing Edwin van der Sar.United dominated the opening 20 minutes, and Christophe Berra was treading a fine line when marking Nemanja Vidic from corners, leaving the Serbian on the floor on more than one occasion.

Wolves were causing some nervy moments for the United defence, however, with Kevin Doyle turning Patrice Evra before Vidic came to his team-mate’s rescue.Nani was again involved just before the half-hour mark when his curling free-kick from 25-yards landed on the roof of the net, though Hennessey looked to have it covered.Nenad Milias then had his own chance from a free-kick for Wolves, his effort deflecting off the end of the wall and flying just past van der Sar’s post.

Wayne Rooney seemed to be having a nightmare, not helped by the Wolves fans’ criticisms from the stand, or the referee missing a late tackle on the England striker by Richard Stearman, a clear yellow card had it been spotted.United were upping their game the longer the match progressed, but Wolves were standing strong, and Hennessey was a spectator for the most part. That all changed when Rafael’s cross seemed to outfox the keeper, his clearance falling to Wayne Rooney, whose shot was blocked heroically by Stearman.A scramble in the goalmouth with eight minutes to go almost led to an equaliser for United, but Scholes’ shot was blocked again.

Whether this match will be the catalyst for a poor run of performances remains to be seen. United can claim a poor playing surface and harsh conditions affected them badly, but they simply did not create enough against the bottom club in the league.

In truth, it was dismal performance from the Red Devils. After hearing of Arsenal’s dropped points earlier in the day, this was truly a missed opportunity for the would-be champions. No matter how hard they tried, it just didn't seem right.I surely was disappointed and i can say this at the behest of every United fan, nothing has changed and United can still continue it's strong run. Some might say that the pressure of remaining unbeaten might have been adding up but now that it's out of the way , we expect to see some heavy action against rivals Manchester City next week.

Manchester United Favourites To Sign Want-Away Udinese Winger Alexis Sanchez

Manchester United are at the front of the queue to snap up 22-year-old Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez at the end of the season, according to credible sources.United have been named in reports from Italy as firm favourites in the race for the player’s signature after his agent revealed yesterday that the Chilean would be leaving the Serie A side at the end of the season.Sanchez’s agent Fernando Felicevich said: "Various clubs have shown an interest and he will leave Udinese at the end of the season.

"Despite everything that has been said and written, neither I nor the club have received offers for Sanchez in January. But I can confirm he will change clubs in June."

Sir Alex Ferguson is rumoured to have been tracking the player for some time now and he isn’t the only one. The wide man’s form in Serie A this season has attracted attention from other club’s such as Inter Milan, Manchester City and Barcelona.Sanchez has made 85 appearances for the Italian side since 2006, scoring 14 goals in the process. He spent two periods out on loan with Colo-Colo in 2006 and River Plate in 2007.

Sir Alex Ferguson needs big name signings this summer as he looks to bolster a team which has quite a few players due to retire.Edwin Van Der Sar has already announced his retirement at the end of the season, Gary Neville has already retired , Paul Scholes may also likely retire, Michael Owen may not be offered a contract extension.Since an EPL season is doomed to be plagued with injuries, SAF could certainly bolster the team with the signing of Alexis Sanchez.

Manchester United's Starlet Chris Smalling Reveals Playing With Nemanja Vidic Is 'Priceless' To His Career

Manchester United's starlet centre-back Chris Smalling has discusses the impact Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand are having on him as a player.Smalling signed for Manchester United from Fulham in the summer and he has made 16 appearances so far this season. He says Vidic has not only been crucial on the pitch for the club in terms of performances, but also in passing on tips in training.Smalling says "Vidic has had the biggest impact this season on us.That is why we have been so solid at the back so to have the chance to play with him is a massive boost for me."

"He is one of the world's best central defenders so to get the chance to learn my trade next to him is invaluable. He is always talking to me, which makes my job a lot easier when I step into the team. His partnership with Rio Ferdinand is something I admired from childhood ,so that chance to train with them each day and interact with them allows me to pick up bits and pieces of information, which is a real bonus."And defensive skills are not the only thing Smalling is learning from his more experienced team-mates.With United top of the table and seemingly on course for a record breaking 19th Premier League title, the pressure has been on.Chris Smalling has done seemingly well so far. He scored his debut goal for Manchester United in the Carling Cup clash against Scunthrope United and has reassured the fans that he is there to perform. From the looks of it ,i'd say this man is heading towards a first team spot after the Rio Ferdinand's retirement.
